I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Child Mental Health Specialist who counsels individuals, adolescents, and families from 14 – 75 years old. I help clients manage emotions and behaviors associated with trauma, generational trauma, work and life stress, shame, depression, community and corporate racism, dysfunctional family dynamics, and abuse. She also provides crisis therapy in schools to students and staff. I was a mental health evaluator in the Emergency Department in a hospital emergency department for several years. After working as a television producer and director in Los Angeles for several years, I took a break from production to complete graduate coursework in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Los Angeles.
I am a solution-focused clinician with a direct, casual, and interactive approach. I utilize intensive training in trauma and suicidal ideation as well as personal experiences to help a multitude of populations become healthy, positive, and productive. My clients learn healthy and constructive ways to eliminate negative thought patterns, manage destructive reactions and unwanted behavioral responses, and productively process experiences that have created sadness, fear, or shame. My clients learn to love and accept themselves again or, for the very first time.
I am a dynamic speaker on topics such as self-care, the effects of childhood trauma, creating and maintaining boundaries, and suicidal ideation assessment and treatment, boundaries, family estrangement, challenging relationship dynamics.
My upcoming literary projects include the healing workbook, "My Bounce Back Plan" which is a multi-step guide to healing yourself after loss or devastation and a non-fiction book called, "The Birth and Death of Motherhood".
